This unique surface finishing is obtained through new technology that is an evolution of invention by Giovanni Barbieri. The procedure first wears out the borders of the tiles then creates semi-opaque natural wavy surface the procedure which “consumes” the softer parts of the marble composition and also allows the subsequent polishing applied in the same grade of an original historical floor. The whole procedure is done with ecological abrasive only. The degree of surface sheen is the same as the original sheen on the floors of the historical buildings in our Italian cities.
